Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu bavit ću se koncertom za violončelo i orkestar u a-molu, op 129 Roberta Schumanna, njegovim životom i stvaralaštvom te razdoblju u kojem je djelovao. Romantizam je vrlo značajno razdoblje jer dolazi do bitnih promjena u skladanju kao i u skladateljevim pogledima na samu glazbu. Skladatelji postaju umjetnici individualci koji teže tome da budu drugačiji. Suprotstavljaju se klasičnom racionalizmu i pravilima skladanja koja su do tada postojala. Vode se svojim istinskim osjećajima te inspiraciju pronalaze svuda oko sebe (u prirodi, doživljajima iz vlastitog života i slično). U ovom djelu Roberta Schumanna možemo vidjeti sve aspekte skladanja u romantizmu. Kroz svaku temu Schumann izlaže svoje osjećaje i stanja koja je tada proživljavao. S obzirom da je Schumann u tom razdoblju pokušao počiniti samoubojstvo, njegovo duševno stanje je bilo poprilično loše pa je to uvelike utjecalo na njegov tijek skladanja.

Abstract (english)

In this graduate thesis I will analyze the concerto for cello and orchestra in A minor, op 129 by Robert Schumann, his life, work and the period during which he composed. Romanticism is considered a very important period in music because during that period many significant changes happened in composing as well as the composer's views on the music itself. Composers became individual artists who strived to be different. They opposed classical rationalism and the rules of composing that existed until then. They were guided by their true feelings and found inspiration in everything around them (nature, experiences from their own lives, etc.). In this work of Robert Schumann we can see all aspects of composing in Romanticism. Through each theme, Schumann presents his feelings and the conditions he was experiencing at the time. Considering Schumann had attempted suicide during this period, his mental state was fragile and it greatly affected his composing course.
