Abstract
Izazov koji pruža istraživanje recepcije američkog skladatelja u Hrvatskoj temelji se na vremenskoj i prostornoj udaljenosti ovih dviju kultura, ali i na samoj kontroverznosti Gershwinove ličnosti budući da je on kao skladatelj uključen u vječnu raspravu o vjerodostojnosti skladateljske tehnike i umjetničke vrijednosti njegove glazbe. Cilj je autorice bio vjerodostojno prikazati kontinuiranost i učestalost izvedbi Gershwinovih djela u Hrvatskoj, u čemu su joj od najveće pomoći bili materijali zagrebačkih knjižnica i dokumentacija Hrvatskog radija.
