Abstract
Diplomski rad predstavlja ulogu trube u djelima Richarda Straussa i Gustava Mahlera. Dok je sama tema detaljno obrađena u drugom poglavlju, diplomski rad započinje poglavljem koje donosi razvoj instrumenta kroz društvene, tehničke i instrumentacijske aspekte sve do razdoblja spomenutih skladatelja. Straussovo, odnosno, Mahlerovo tretiranje trube kao okestralnog instrumenta značilo je grandiozan skok u pogledu poimanja vrijednosti i mogućnosti trube, ponajprije u velikim simfonijskim orkestrima.
