Abstract

Ludwig van Beethoven bio je njemački skladatelj koji je rođen 1770., a umro 1827. godine. Smatra ga se jednim od najvažnijih glazbenika u povijesti glazbe. U svojim je djelima povezivao vlastiti izražaj s tradicijom. Beethoven je bio prvenstveno skladatelj instrumentalnih skladbi, a među njima se ističu: simfonije, gudački kvarteti i klavirske sonate. Napisao je 32 klavirske sonate. Sonata u E-duru, op. 109 pripada skupini njegovih posljednjih sonata, a posvećena je Maximiliane Brentano. Sonata je nastala u kasnom razdoblju njegova stvaralaštva. Ima tri stavka, a centralni dio predstavlja treći stavak koji donosi temu i šest varijacija koji na različite načine interpretiraju temu (karakterne varijacije).

Abstract (english)

Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer born in 1770, and died in 1827. He is considered to be one of the most important musicians in the history of music. His works were a mix of his own style and tradition. Beethoven was mainly a composer of instrumental compositions, a few among them stand out: his symphonies, string quartets and piano sonatas. He wrote 32 piano sonatas. The sonata in E-major, op. 109 belongs to the group of his final sonatas and was dedicated to Maximilliane Brentano. The sonata was made in the late period of his work. It consists of 3 movements where the third movement, that introduces the theme and the six variations that interpret the theme in different ways (character variations), represents the center.
