Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad se bavi interpolacijom jazz elemenata u klasičnu glazbu na primjerima djela Maurice Ravela, Claude Debussyja i Igora Stravinskog. Iznjet će se kratka biografija skladatelja, momenti kada su došli u doticaj sa jazz glazbom i način na koji su te elemente uklopili u svoje skladbe. U odabranim djelima izričito se spominje utjecaj jazza kao inspiracija kompozitorima za vrijeme skladanja. U kraćim osvrtima na djela navodit će se i objašnjavati različiti jazz elementi i tehnike koje su korištene. Ukratko se objašnjava kako je violina uopće postala jazz instrument jer se nekoć smatralao da obujam zvuka violine nije dovoljno jak da se uklopi u zvuk jazz sastava.

Abstract (english)

This graduate thesis deals with interpolation of jazz elements in classical music on examples of works by Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy and Igor Stravinsky. A short biography of composers was released, moments when they come into contact with jazz music and the way these elements were incorporated into their compositions. In the works selected, the jazz influence is explicitly mentioned as an inspiration to composers during the composition. Shorter reviews on the works include and explain the various jazz elements and techniques used. It was briefly explained how the violin became a jazz instrument at all, because once it was considered that the volume of the violin was not strong enough to fit into the sound of the jazz band.
