Abstract
Iako se za kulturu, a posebno za rad amaterskih kulturnih društava svake godine izdvaja sve manje sredstava, a time im se egzistencija znatno otežava, broj novih orkestara se povećava. Pristupaju im školovani i mladi glazbenici koji svojim dirigentima daju najviše poticaja za kvalitetan rad, te se neki od orkestara danas uzdižu gotovo do granica profesionalizma. Repertoar amaterskog puhačkog orkestra više ne čine samo koračnice i polke, on je proširen na obrade klasičnih i jazz kompozicija, te na popularnu i modernu zabavnu i rock glazbu.
