Abstract
Prvi dio rada obuhvaća nastanak i povijest jazza, a u drugom dijelu opisuju se karakteristike jazz glazbe (improvizacija, melodija i harmonija, ritam, izraz i instrumenti). Treći dio obuhvaća stilove jazz glazbe, budući da su u svakom jazz stilu bile su zastupljene specifične muzičke karakteristike i sviračke tehnike - dixieland, swing, be-bop, cool jazz, free jazz, latin jazz i fusion. Posljednji dio rada razmatra ulogu trombonista u jazzu prolazeći kroz stilska razdoblja jazz glazbe, analizirajući razlike između klasičnog i jazz trombona kao vrsti instrumenata te se autor osvrće na vlastita iskustva paralelnog učenja klasične i jazz glazbe.
