Abstract

Ovaj rad bavi se usporedbom glavnog lika i radnje Prévostova romana Manon Lescaut u romantičkim operama iste tematike. Analize su učinjene iz perspektive interpreta s ciljem zaključivanja u kojoj je količini moguće uglazbiti sadržaj romana, koliko je opravdano odstupanje od njegove radnje u odnosu na dramaturški koncept emocija u operi, te razumijevanja razlika u različitim interpretacijama njenog lika (u smislu karakterizacije i odnosa prema drugim likovima) u operama Daniela Aubera, Julesa Masseneta, Giacoma Puccinija.

Abstract (english)

This thesis discusses the comparison of the main character and the plot in three romantic operas based on Prévost’s novel Manon Lescaut. The study was made in order to understand how much of the novel's story is possible to set in the music, to see if the deviation from its plot is justified for the sake of dramatic concept of emotions in opera, and to comprehend the difference between three contrary interpretations of her character (in terms of characterization and relationship with other characters) in operas by Daniel Auber, Jules Massenet, Giacomo Puccini.
